Online Global Education International Exchange
On December 18, 2025, Osaka Seikei University (OSU) students from the faculty of Global Tourism and Management enjoyed meeting online with their peers from a top-tier, globally ranked university known as John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) in the Philippines.
This unique opportunity took place in the “Advanced English 2” class for OSU students.
Students from both universities exchanged information using their “Virtual Passports” about culture, cuisine, festivals, and tourism issues and events. It seems that the event was popular and successful based on the positive student reviews.
For example, one OSU student commented, “Today's class was a valuable experience. I was able to learn not only about English, but also about culture. I had a great time” and “I learned that values and ways of thinking differ depending on the culture. This helped me understand why people think and act differently”.
Another student stated, “I... enjoyed our class today, because we could share our Virtual Passport, and we could practice our English skill”.
A third student stated, “Through this class, I realized the importance of looking at things from different perspectives. I would like to continue learning about cultural differences through familiar examples.”
Finally, we would like to ask express our gratitude to the students, staff, and administrators at JBLFMU for this opportunity. We are especially thankful for the hard work and leadership of Dr. Louise Lim for creating this event. This is the second year in a row between both universities for this event.
